Cliniko alternative

£29 a month,
and still no website.

Cliniko is £29 a month for one practitioner — and it does not build you a website, so most Cliniko practices are paying for WordPress, a host and a domain on top. Bee-booked is £10 a month with the website in it. That is £228 a year before you count the hosting you stop paying for.

The difference

Four things you get that Cliniko does not do

Your website is included

Cliniko does not build you a website — which is why most Cliniko practices are also paying for WordPress, a theme, a host and a domain, then embedding a booking widget into it. With Bee-booked the site and the booking are the same thing, and the site is included in the £10.

£10 against £29

£29 a month for one practitioner, £59 the moment a second joins you, £89 at six. Ours is £10 for the practice however many of you there are — so a two-person clinic pays us £120 a year against £708, and the gap widens every time you hire.

The things that fill a diary

Loyalty cards, gift vouchers, discount codes, review requests and a cancellation waiting list are all included. Cliniko is deliberately a clinical system and does not do any of them — they are not a failing on its part, they are simply a different job.

A marketplace listing, at 0%

Every Bee-booked practice can be listed on our directory and pay nothing on the bookings it brings. Cliniko has no marketplace, so new clients have to find you some other way.

When Cliniko is the better choice

We are a booking and website platform, not a clinical records system. If any of these is how your day actually runs, stay where you are — or keep Cliniko and let us do the website.

  • You need files on a patient record — a GP letter, an X-ray, a consent PDF. We take images for your website and treatments, and nothing else.
  • Your patients claim on private medical insurance and need a proper invoice or receipt from you.
  • You want reporting across the whole practice. We report your earnings, and that is all we report.
  • You want telehealth, or expenses and tax tracking. We do not do either, and are not planning to — that is what your accountant’s software is for.
  • You have reception staff who need their own logins, separate from practitioners.

None of that is a reason to pay £29 for a system that still leaves you buying a website somewhere else.

Questions

Cliniko vs Bee-booked

How much is Cliniko in the UK?
£29 a month for one practitioner, rising in bands — £59 for 2 to 5, £89 for 6 to 8, and so on. There is a 30-day free trial, no contract, and SMS costs 5p a message on top. Cliniko is free for registered charities and educational institutions, and it does not discount otherwise. Bee-booked is a flat £10 for the whole practice, locked for life. (Prices read from cliniko.com/pricing, August 2026.)
Is Bee-booked a replacement for clinical notes?
For many therapists, yes. You can build your own forms — as many as you like, with your own questions, mapped to the treatments they belong to — and every submission is stored against the client, kept for your retention period and audited whenever it is opened. You also get private notes and notes you can choose to share with the client. Where Cliniko is still ahead is files: it will hold a GP letter or a scan on the patient record and we will not.
Can you produce invoices for patients claiming on insurance?
Not today. Cliniko does invoicing, payments and receipts as a first-class part of the product, and if your patients reclaim through Bupa, AXA or similar, that matters. We record what was paid and how, and you can export it — but we do not issue an insurance-ready invoice.
Do you do SMS reminders?
No. We send email confirmations, reminders and calendar invites with no per-message charge. Cliniko does SMS at 5p a message. We have left SMS out deliberately to hold the price at £10 rather than passing per-text costs on.
Can I move my data across?
Paste your price list in and your treatments are built for you; bring your clients by CSV. It is an afternoon, once. Cliniko will do the moving for you, which is worth having if you are switching a busy multi-practitioner clinic — and worth very little if you are one person with a price list.
Could I use both?
Some do, and it is a reasonable answer: Cliniko for the clinical record, Bee-booked for the website, the booking page and the marketing. At £10 that is a cheaper website than most practices are already paying for.
